What’s included

The HiAce, especially in SLWB form, gives you a massive cargo area to work with. The 300 Series SLWB offers roughly 3,500mm of cargo length, 1,545mm of width, and 1,340mm of internal height. That’s significantly more volume than a VW Transporter, which opens up layout options that smaller vans just can’t accommodate.

Our HiAce builds take advantage of that extra space. Standard setups include a full-length sleeping platform with generous under-bed storage, a proper kitchen with bench space, dual-burner stove, and sink with running water, and a 12V power system with enough capacity for extended off-grid stays. We can also integrate a portable toilet area with a privacy partition if you’re planning longer trips.

Insulation and lining are a key part of any HiAce build. The flat panel walls are straightforward to insulate and line, and we use premium materials that manage condensation and look good for years.

Why the HiAce

The HiAce is Toyota reliability in a van platform. Parts are cheap, servicing is easy, and the diesel models are economical for their size. The newer 300 Series has significantly better road manners than the older models, making it a genuine daily driver option.

If you want more room than a VW and don’t mind a slightly larger vehicle, the HiAce is hard to go past. The extra width and length mean you can have a proper fixed bed with a dedicated kitchen space underneath or beside it, rather than a fold-out compromise. Our CNC-cut plywood builds make the most of every bit of that volume.
